These are the relevant airport codes:

WAS: All Washington Airports

DCS: Washington, DC – Reagan-National

IAD: Washington, DC – Dulles Intl

BWI: Baltimore, MD – Baltimore/Washington

I find that kayak.com is a good one-stop place for finding reasonable airfares.

Shuttle Service

I use this shuttle service, which can be paid in advance to save money. The fee ranges from $20 to $55 depending to which airport you fly:

Super Shuttle

Hotel

I typically stay at the Days Inn Alexandria South, which is about 2.5 miles from the US Patent Office. The fee is usually $77 per night, when you prepay using their website to book the reservation.

Click to go to room reservations at Days Inn Alexandria South

There are other hotels that are within walking distance, however, they are usually considerably more.

The cab ride to the USPTO is only $12-$15 from the Days Inn. The walk to public transportation is about 1/2 mile. Sometimes, if you ask in advance, the Days Inn can provide a limo ride to the USPTO or the public transportation.

Note to clients: If you find less expensive and comparably convenient services, please let me know so I can update this page.

No related posts.

Travel to the US Patent & Trademark Office by Andrew P.
